Freedom of speech

I don’t have any particular attachment to that incredibly misunderstood and constantly-redefined word ‘freedom’, but I do recognize that totalitarianism stifles any and all human progress.

It is no crime to speak your mind, and it is no crime to choose NOT to listen (no one has a ‘right to be heard’), but the freedom to express unpopular ideas is morally stronger than freedom from oppression for those who cannot or will not contribute.
Free speech is the sole framework which, in the information age, allows individuals to truly contribute to the future of mankind.

What we need is a scientifically-developed, logical morality framework. Does it enhance human life? does it enhance human potential? Does it allow individual heroes to excel? Does it create NEW and truthful information? Then morally, it trumps making the sheep more comfortable.
